Thank You for a stable and feature-packed product- Virtual Box. I use it on ubuntu 18.04... and downloaded the 5.2.34 version from its package manager.

Is there a way to change the Virtual Box window color? That would be great, to help me to distinguish between the host and the guest (Virtual Box Window) easier....

I am using the host and guest of ubuntu 18.04 (for both), and Virtual Box ... The desktop of the host, and the main window of Virtual Box is the same color.

More Info: When I changed the theme of ubuntu guest - when running ubuntu host and guest- the Virtual Box main window did not change color.

When running ubuntu 18.04 guest on Windows 10 - yes,.... same .vhd from above in a dual-boot PC... the Virtual Box main window IS a different color here.... Of course this is not the same Virtual Box version. For Windows 10, the version used here is 6.0.10.

Can you please show a screenshot (posted with the forum's Upload Attachment tab, crop & resize to be smaller than the 128kB forum size limit, PNG is best format) of what you're talking about?

To the best of my knowledge, no.

Are you running nested Virtualbox (physical host PC > Virtualbox guest > another Virtualbox guest inside the first guest)?

OK... I was able to attach two images.... The .vhd Virtual Disk file - is the same one used - in Windows 10 and in Ubuntu 18.04.

In host Ubuntu above, the Virtual Box main window is inside the host ubuntu window... and is the same color as the main PC ubuntu window... (closer to color than the pic depicts).

In host Windows 10 below, the Virtual Box main window takes up the entire screen... and is white.

My request is that when the host is Ubuntu and the guest is ubuntu, that the main guest window- where it states: "Ubuntu 18.04 (Running) - Oracle VM Virtualbox" - to be a different color.

This is something that cannot be done with Hyper-V.... obviously. Hyper-V is only available in Windows.

Good Luck....

-Still waiting for a solution to my color problem though.....
