guest input (mouse+keyboard) not working

Hi,

I created an Ubuntu Desktop VM, with virtualbox 2.0.2. Whenever I start the VM, I have problems directing input to the guest OS. Sometimes the mouse doesn't work, other times it's the keyboard or even both.

Has anyone experienced this problem? any workaround?

the mouse is USB and the keyboard is built.in (laptop)

thanks

Have you installed Guest Additions. More info would help us to give a more coherent answer. Please have a look the Forum Posting Guide for help in framing Qs.

Sorry, my first post didn't really comply to the forum rules.

VirtualBox: 2.0.2
Host: WinXP SP2
Guest: Ubuntu Hardy
Network: NAT + Port Forwarding
Guest Additions installed (can't check the version as I can't login...)

thanks

it seems that you have to give focus to the VM window right after your start it and wait for it to boot until you get the login prompt - worked for me so far...
