Ubuntu Fails to Run on Mac's Virtual Box

I think my Mac is blocking Internet connections. I will try to check the firewall and ensure that Virtual Box is to blocked. I have not been able to get ubuntu to run successfully on Virtual Box. Would anyone please be able to help me out? Or offer other possible sources of failure? Thank you.
