Installation of FSX disk 2 fails

Post by rva1945 »

HI:

I was trying to install MS FSX deluxe that comes with two DVDs, disk 1 and disk 2. Disk 1 installed ok then it asked me to insert disk 2. I did it, added it in Devices, Optical Drives (etc) the same way I had done with disk 1. To no avail, there was an error message related to failing to provide disk 2.

The PC has only one optical drive so there is no way to have both inserted.

Is there any way to make this work?

If there is no copy protection on disc 2, you might try making an ISO of it, then load the ISO instead of the host CD drive. Making an ISO would also check to see if the disc is readable.

Don't expect much out of FSX in a virtual machine. It really needs to be on the physical PC. It demands a lot of the hardware.

Well I did something someone said it worked: copied both disks in the same folder (not replacing duplicate files), launched setup.exe and it is running.

I have problems with some flickering that appears on the horizon where there are structures loke mountains or even couds.
