Invalid Hardware Acceleration Settings Detected

Post by Squiddo »

I am a new user of VirtualBox, and I downloaded it to emulate Windows XP.
The entirety of the process to set it up for use worked, but I can't start it since an invalid setting was activated.
Hardware Virtualization was enabled when it shouldn't have, but even after disabling it, it still doesn't allow me to save.
Every setting was at it's default.

Hover over the "Invalid Settings" icon, report what the popup says.

*sigh* It says "The hardware virtualization is enabled in the Acceleration section of the System page although it is not supported by the host system. It should be disabled in order to start the virtual system." I'm just saying that even when I disable it, it still won't let me save..

If you are running Virtualbox 6.1.x you must have 'virtualization technology' (VT-x or AMD-v/SVM) turned on in your computer's BIOS for all guests, even those that did not need it before. Google for how to do this. If you cannot turn it on, then you should downgrade Virtualbox to 6.0.something.
