Windows 10 Direct3D not working

Post by windturbo »

I have Windows 10 under Virtualbox that I mostly use to do Turbotax. The Turbotax menus are coming up empty, making it unusable. I have run UserBench, which reports "Could not find any compatible Direct3D devices." I have the 2D and 3D box checked in settings. Using VBoxSVGA. Also, UserBench returns the wrong memory size. I have it set to 4GB. Similar setup last year worked fine. Any suggestions for how to debug appreciated.

Details:

Host: Ubuntu 19.10 Eaon
Vbox: 6.0.14_Ubuntu r132055
Guest: Windows 10
Guest Additions: 6.0.14-1

BTW, I still get the error in UserBench when using VBoxVGA, but Turbotax menus look fine.
