performance 64-bit Intel CPU 64-bit AMD CPUs

Post by jalenwhb »

What is the difference between the performance of creating a virtual machine on the host machine of 64-bit Inter cpus and 64-bit AMD cpus? Currently testing the virtual machine on a 64-bit AMD cpus host machine is stuttered

I don't recall anyone doing such a benchmarking test, especially as getting exactly the same 'strength' of CPU in a Intel and AMD PCs would be required, as well as identical storage, etc. The motherboards would also be different. Very much a bananas/oranges comparison (not Apples, that's entirely another peck of fruit  ). And how to scale the results if exact match cannot be obtained & verified? Not to mention the $$$ involved.

You can websearch with this attached to your search terms:

site:forums.virtualbox.org

to restrict results to this forum, to see if anyone has reported such a test.

You can also zip and post a guest vbox.log for that 'stuttering' guest, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab, and we might be able to figure out why the guest isn't smooth.

Or just read the forum. There's some 'non-smooth guest' posts your guest may benefit from.
