Win7 guest; excellent performance with 4 GB RAM, slow with 16 GB RAM

Base system has 64 GB total, and over 32 available with the 16 GB assigned to the vm.

I realized this Windows 7 vm had only 4 gb, and having 64 gb, decided to put it 16 gb.
But the performance goes to the gutter, I right click vm and have to noticeably wait for the OS to respond.

The underlying OS is Linux Arch, completely updated, so is VirtualBox. This actually happens also on a Debian 10 machine when running this vm.

I've tested with 8 GB and works pefect.

It doesn't matter have much you have installed, it matters how much you have available.

We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:
  • Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe or recreate the problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
  • With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
  • Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.
