VIA C7 as Host, XP guest, VB 2.0.2

Post by kos_set »

Hello,

I know it is still an open bug, but do you know any solution to run XP guest on VIA C7 platform? I use Xubuntu 8.04 as host.

I am even not able to run XP Setup, because it says that CPUID and CMPXCHG8B instructions are not able.

Any ideas how to get around this bug?

I think that the ticket is 370 though the closed 774 seems a more accurate detail. All I can suggest is to to register for a wiki user account (this is different to a forum account sorry) if you haven't done so, and add your information inc the VBox.log to this ticket using the public Bugtracker.

No sorry. If you google via c7 site:forums.virtualbox.org, there are very few references to the C7 though some of these were successful.
