Everything is properly setup. The 'usbhost' shows the device as "Captured".
UUID: 547ad909-c329-41e0-9ea9-6ea1f8d3add8
VendorId: 0x0781 (0781)
ProductId: 0x5595 (5595)
Revision: 1.0 (0100)
Port: 1
USB version/speed: 3/Super
Manufacturer: SanDisk
Product: Ultra USB 3.0
SerialNumber: 4C531001610626104534
Address: {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000}\0025
Current State: Captured
However I didn't see the device being plugged in after the VM started. Did you do that, insert the device after you had logged into the Guest?

Yes indeed - the USB drive is inserted after the guest OS is booted, the user is logged in, and a wait period of about 1 minute after login. Thank you for your time!

What's the output of the following command when run in a Terminal in the Guest, when the USB device is actually captured:
  •
    lsusb

Can you please uninstall your current VirtualBox 6.0.14 and downgrade (yes, downgrade) to 6.0.8, including the matching Extension Pack? And then repeat the USB attach procedure? You don't have to modify anything to your VM, in fact don't even touch the VM Settings!

No logs needed, just a works (Y/N?), would be enough...

There have been some changes in the USB subsystem, and I want to make sure that they didn't introduce any new issues:
  • 6.0.10: USB: improve captured device identification
  • 6.0.12: USB: Improved identification of power-saved devices on Windows hosts
  • 6.0.14: USB: made device capturing for passthrough more accurate and reliable on Windows host
If I'm not mistaken, yours is the 2nd such case, need to find the 1st one...

I uninstalled VirtualBox 6.0.14 and installed VirtualBox 6.0.8 (Version 6.0.8r130520)

along with the associated Extension Pack

Pack no. 0: Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack
Version: 6.0.8
Revision: 130520

Again, the USB drive is captured but does not attach.

OK, in that case I'm going to need the whole package of information that's asked for in #8: Asking for help.

Something's really strange lately with "Captured" devices that don't show up in the Guest... :?

The latest VirtualBox [Version 6.0.16 r135674 (Qt5.6.2)] and extension pack [6.0.16r135674] updates solved this issue.

Thank you to everyone involved with maintaining such an excellent tool!
