Audio Stuttering on Windows 7 with Windows 10 Host

I'm having an issue with a Windows 7 guest where the audio is just really choppy and sounds like it's all playing in slow motion. I tried a variety of things that made sense to me like changing the audio controller, trying USB 2.0 (3.0 wouldn't install drivers), installing an audio driver that Win7 said was apparently missing, but nothing really seemed to work. I also tried a fix someone said to just disable I/O APIC but that didn't seem to do anything. Someone also said that if you configure your speakers to 5.1 surround then it fixes audio issues, but I'm using headphones and can't configure those. Some topics just said that the stuttering is a fault of VirtualBox and it's just something you have to deal with, but I'm not sure how true those statements are.

Host: Windows 10 (64-bit)
Guest: Windows 7 (32-bit)
Memory (host): 8 GB
Allocated memory (Guest): 2 GB (FYI, allocating more memory didn't seem to help)

I'm not sure how to include the log files because even though this forum apparently requires those, the maximum attachment size is 128 KB and both files are over that size.

Evidently, I've almost solved this problem while trying to solve another problem. I was planning on streaming using a VM and wasn't getting host audio. Switching the controller to ICH AC97 and removing the USB filters I had to get my headphones working fixed the stuttering and now I'm getting audio on both the host and guest. However, there's now some occasional crackling. It's not constant and seems to only appear if there's some audio playing for a significant length of time, like music. It doesn't seem to be a major hindrance and I can deal with it but I was just wondering if there's an easy fix for that.
Attached is the log (zipped, because I'm an idiot and didn't think of that)

I would try to restore the host OS audio to as basic a setup as possible. No Bluetooth or USB anything, no extra drivers or software, just an old-school analog line-out and a set of wired stereo headphones like the ones that came with the Walkman. Also install a second fresh new guest with default audio and use the default Virtualbox audio choices for the guest audio settings. See if you can get smooth audio from the new guest and the host.

If so, then add in other audio stuff one item at a a time. See where the glitch comes in. Sometimes a fresh install of things helps them coexist better.

Windows 7 needs special drivers to use USB3 in the guest. See USB basics and troubleshooting
