USB: Connection failed to TMS320C6713DSK

Hi, there is the following problem with VirtualBox 6.0.12 and 6.0.14 (maybe with all 6.0.x-Versions):
Connection error when starting TI Code Composer Studio 3.x: Can't connect to TMS320C6713DSK-Board.
All device drivers are installed correctly. The device is visible without error in the Windows system overview. All VirtualBox filters are ok and active.
It looks like that the enumeration of the USB device failed.
Other USB devices are working properly.
It was running in the past with VirtualBox 5.x.x and Mageia 6.x.
Host: Linux Mageia 7.1 (64bit) with kernel 5.3.6
Guests: Windows XP (32bit) and Windows 7 (32bit)

Best regards
Ralf

The second statement negates the first one. You can't have the enumeration fail when the device is recognized properly. What you may have is a time-sensitive device.

Can you downgrade your VirtualBox installation and see if that's still the case? I don't think that you can downgrade your Mageia, so downgrading VirtualBox might be your best option to see who's at fault here. You can find the older VirtualBox versions in VirtualBox (Old Builds) » VirtualBox 5.2.

Thank you for your help!
It works again with VirtualBox 5.2.34.
Do you see any chance to get it run under VirtualBox 6.x.x?

Best regards
Ralf

Great detective work there 'hilti68', you just proved that it's not Mageia, but it's apparently VirtualBox.

What I'd like you to do is:
  1. Update to the latest and greatest VirtualBox. That would be 6.0.14 as of this writing.
  2. Follow the instructions in USB basics and troubleshooting » #8: Asking for help.
