Networking Issues Win2k Guest Windows 10 Host

I have been using a Windows 2000 guest on a Windows 10 machine for a few years now. While I was on vacation, I turned the entire machine off for about two weeks (Oct 3?-Oct 14?). When I turned the computer back on, it installed some Windows 10 updates. The next time I tried to use my Windows 2000 guest, I got the following error when the system was automatically reconnecting a mapped drive.
An error occurred while reconnecting X: to \\Corkyten\Documents Microsoft Windows Network : The Specified network name is no longer available.
I have since updated the version to 6.0.?? and updated the additions as well. I still encounter the same problem.

I know almost nothing about networking so please be gentle.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone that showed enough interest to look at my post. I have managed to fumble my way through my problem and have maybe even discovered a way to make my set up a little more bullet proof. Thanks again for your interest.

So... does that mean that you managed to fix the problem? Does it work now?

Because if this was an attempt at "bumping" your post, 2 hours after you first posted, that's too premature.
