Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 5 - Virtualbox 2.0 died

Post by jstalin »

I upgraded my Ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 alpha 5 and my virtualbox 2.0 died. When I try to load a guest, it says it is spawning the session, then it just sits there at 0%. I need to end the process to get it to quit.

Any ideas? Updates to make it work, etc?

Thanks,
Jeff

At a guess, you will probably have to wait until the final release of 8.10, and subsequent new versions of VB. Or, maybe there are hacks out there to make it work.

The issue is the kernel. No real support for 2.6.27 are done yet. Also, you upgrade to an OS that is still not final. We can't give support for non-final releases. This is what you get if you want to run unstable systems. Things tend to break. You should have thought more about what an upgrade is about.

I'm locking this one. Reason: Unsupported 'in-progress' OS.
