Guru Meditation: VINF_EM_TRIPLE_FAULT

Post by NicolasK »

Hi,

I just wanted to install Windows 10, but it crashes into guru meditation a few seconds after start, while reading from the virtual disc boot image.

Host:

lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
Release: 18.04
Codename: bionic

uname -a
Linux pspc01 4.15.0-62-generic #69-Ubuntu SMP Wed Sep 4 20:55:53 UTC 2019 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

The log is attached. I tried adjusting various settings, but the error remains the same.
Upgrade to VirtualBox 6.0.12 didn't helped.

Thanks for any hint.

Update the VirtualBox Extension Pack to match the version of VirtualBox. I don't know if it has anything to do with your problem, but it is a prerequisite for a working setup.

Thank you for this hint.
For different reasons I tried it today from a different system (where I updated the extension pack, so it may have helped to the other system as well) and here it worked.
