[Solved] USB not found, Vbox 6.0.12, Linux Mint Cinnamon

Hello,
I am running VirtualBox 6.0.12 for Linux.
I have installed the 6.0.12 Extension Pack.
I have added my user to the vboxusers group.
I have a Kingston DTEG2 64 GB (USB 3.0) device plugged in.
Running vboxmanage list usbhost shows no devices - see the text copied from the shell below.

dais@LinuxMint:~$ vboxmanage list usbhost
Host USB Devices:

<none>

However, in the FileManager the USB devices show up.

Needless to say, the Settings->USB does not find any USB ports.
I tried adding a filter but if the Vbox host does not see the USB, that seemed futile.
Also, I have no idea what to put in the "Vendor ID" and "Product Id" Fields.

Any suggestions from all you advanced users? On my Windows system, this is not a problem.

Please read the following thread: USB basics and troubleshooting, all of the posts.

If you still have a problem after reading through the whole thing, please follow the advice of the last post, #8: Asking for help and post the information requested.

If you don't need direct access to the USB, but just access to its files, consider the VirtualBox Shared Folders option instead...

Thank you for this useful information. I will follow the comprehensive instructions you provided and reply with results.
I did try to use the search box for USB under <Howtos and Tutorials>. But this produced no results.
Today, trying to figure out what was wrong with my search, I tried USB* and this worked.
(Also, I read the Search FAQ where the asterisk is mentioned. )
