Hi all,

I've been using Virtualbox for years now and never had this problem before. I upgraded my ubuntu system to 19.04 and since then my Virtualbox 6.0.6 guest Win7 system freezes anytime I try to print to Zebra lable printer that I have been using for years, and works just fine in other circumstances. I am printing from the Dazzle software to print postage. All systems are up to date, and the guest has the 6.0.6 Guest editions are installed. All other settings are the same within Virtualbox. Any suggestions on where to start looking for what is causing this? Thanks.

George

Please post a log from the guest, zipped, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

I strongly suspect you have the Ubuntu fork of Virtualbox on your host and a downloaded Guest Additions. Forks may be modified on ways we don't know about, so we don't support them here.

Download and install the official Virtualbox from http://www.virtualbox.org, and install the Guest Additions from the iso file that comes pre-packaged with the official download. Then try your guest again. (If you're worried about these changes, make a backup of the guest by re-interpreting this tutorial: Moving a VM

That did it. I removed the Ubuntu installed packages and installed VB direct from the source, with new extensions and guest additions, and everything went back to normal. I'll file this away for next time: Ubuntu upgrade? Sudo apt-get remove virtualbox... and start fresh.

Thanks.
