The host machine detects a new usb device when it is inserted (and not mounted), but the guest does not detect it: "No USB Devices Connected"
I enabled usb controller, selected usb 3.0, and added "new filter 1" at default settings, which are supposed to detect all devices.
If I selected usb 3, I assume it will detect also usb 2, or is this not so?

Re: usb devices not detected
Why? There's a 6.0.11 r133017 for the main VirtualBox program as well. You couldn't have missed it when you installed the ExtPack.Shmu26 wrote:VB: 6.0.11 r132749, Extension pack: 6.0.11 r133017
Do NOT do that! There's a real danger of losing your mouse/keyboard!Shmu26 wrote:and added "new filter 1" at default settings, which are supposed to detect all devices.
Please read the following thread: USB basics and troubleshooting, all of the posts. If you still have a problem after reading through the whole thing, please follow the advice of the last post, #8: Asking for help and post the information requested.
If you don't need direct access to the USB, but just access to its files, consider the VirtualBox Shared Folders option instead...
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

Re: usb devices not detected
Thanks.
So I simplified things
VB: Version 6.0.10 r132072 (Qt5.9.5)
Extension Pack: 6.0.10r132072
"new filter" removed
But I still get "No USB Devices Connected"
Before installing the stable version, I uninstalled the beta version, and ran in terminal:
sudo apt-get remove virtualbox*
sudo '/opt/VirtualBox/uninstall.sh'
sudo apt autoremove

Re: usb devices not detected
Why did you read only the first two parts of my comment and ignored the most important points? I hate repeating myself...
