Running VB on a Macbook Pro 2012 15" Retina.

Windows 10
Base memory: 2800mb

VB keeps freezing every time I move my cursor over the optical drives options. I'm trying to connect a CD Drive to play Zoo Tycoon 1 on Windows 1. I don't know how to get around this problem. Any help towards playing the game in general or fixing the freeze would be greatly appreciated!

It will be the host drive that's causing the problem. It's external, right?

I would try imaging the CD to an ISO and mounting the ISO instead. Of course if the game was copy protected then that may not work either.
