Problem trying to boot from a VMware VMDK file
Posted: 8. Sep 2008, 00:36
I have successfully installed Virtual Box Version 2.0.0 on a ubuntu Hardy system.
VirtualBox recognized the VM I have been successfully using in VMware and I have added the VMDK file as the IDE Primary Master using Virtual disk Manager. The VMDK contains a Windows XP Pro x64 installation.
When I start, the xVM Virtual Box Flash displays, then tries to boot.
It fails with this message:
FATAL: No bootable medium found! System halted.
If I select F12, none of the choices there works any differently.
Does anyone have experience with this scenario? I really hate the idea of creating another VM, installing and setting up an XP environment again.
