you can get rid of the gksudo neccessity by adding the line into sudoers as per my post (NOPASSWD) and also comment out "requiretty"cdolson wrote:Perfect! That worked. Thank you!
Now, host networking seems to work perfectly by adding the script to the network startup scripts in VBox, using gksudo.
What would be the proper way to take down the tap0 interface, and is this even necessary?

the second script cleanuptap.sh takes down the tap interface after you close the guest. it has to be done really otherwise you'll end up with loads of interaces until you reboot.
also note that this thread now has three different sets of scripts/methods - randomchance was first, then mine, then skoehler has added one too. you have to pick one set of scripts/method, i don't think a mixture would be good!
