Re: Bug in the Shared Clipboard
"does not work" has no useful meaning. Please be specific.
Also, a zipped log file is required.

Re: Bug in the Shared Clipboard
It is complicated for me to explain to you simply that the Transfer Aréa is activated in a "bi-directional" way, but it does not work,
I just generated a new installation of windows bits but without success.
Attached is the Log File and a video demonstrating the problem.

Re: Bug in the Shared Clipboard
Thank you for the video, it explained your mindset.
You are trying to Copy/Paste files. You cannot Copy/Paste files. Only text. Simple text. Notepad <-> Notepad. That's it.
PS. I changed the title of the thread from "Bug in the Shared Transfer Aréa" to "Bug in the Shared Clipboard", because it could have been confused with "Bug in the Shared Folders", which is not.

Re: Bug in the Shared Clipboard
Firstly, thank you for your attention.
So it's not a Bug?
to copy a file through the transfer area is not possible? is there any way to do this?
Using the drag and drop functionality also does not seem to work right.
there is the problem that if I suspend the Virtual Machine when I re-activate it it does not work anymore.
And I can not and mount folder by accessing the folder share
See the attached video.

No, it's not a bug. As I said, only plain text, not even formatted text.Luciano_F wrote:So it's not a Bug?

It has its share of problems. I personally don't use it. And I bet that if you search the bug tracker you'll find a ticket for the behavior you're seeing.Luciano_F wrote:Using the drag and drop functionality also does not seem to work right. there is the problem that if I suspend the Virtual Machine when I re-activate it it does not work anymore.
First of all, music? In the video? Please, don't...Luciano_F wrote:And I can not and mount folder by accessing the folder share See the attached video.
Second, you didn't show any Shared Folders in the video, you showed Drag'n'Drop. That's not how Shared Folders are working. You need to go to the Network area of your guest where you're going to find a VBOXSVR waiting. In there, you'll find your Shared Folders.
Now, after looking at your log, this is all supposed to work if you've installed the Guest Additions in your guest. And you haven't. That's why nothing is working. Please read ch. 4. Guest Additions, 4.2.1. Guest Additions for Windows, 4.3. Shared Folders, 4.4. Drag and Drop.

Re: Bug in the Shared Clipboard (#18672)
You did good to open a thread in the forums.
Not so good for opening ticket #18672 before we could discuss what's going on...
I added the ticket information on your first post and in the thread title.

And how could that be?Luciano_F wrote:

If by "transfer area" you mean the Clipboard, yes.
I installed the Guest and now I can see the Shared folder, but the Transfer File for File Copy is still not possible.

Re: Bug in the Shared Clipboard (#18672)
You need to install the Guest Additions. Did you?
Then you must read the chapters I gave you, especially ch. 4.3. Shared Folders. If you read it, you'll know.

I do not think the colleague understood my question.socratis wrote:You need to install the Guest Additions. Did you?

as I mentioned earlier
"Shared folder" is working after I installed Guest
however you had say this:
I just want to know if the file transfer for files copy works ?If by "transfer area" you mean the Clipboard, yes.

I said it many times; the Clipboard is for text ONLY. Simple text ONLY.
