VirtualBox 2 and shared encrypted folders or symlinks

Post by Valk »

I have been using version 1.6 for a while and have been sharing a encfs encrypted folder as well as a link to an encrypted folder very successfully.
I upgraded to version 2 today and find that I cannot even create a link as the folders do not show in the location window during the creation of the share.
If I manually create the share then I get the message that the share is not accessible and access is denied.
Other normal folders in my Home Folder are shared fine.
Is this a bug or by design?

There is another encryption ticket. Have a look at http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/2088

You may wish to downgrade to 1.6.6 if you have stability problems with 2.0
