Video Driver - compatible with QT5.x ?

Hi,

I have the issue, that FreeCAD 0.18 is not running on my Win10 under VirtualBox 6.0.6 (Win10 as a guest on VirtualBox 6.0.6 running on a Linux host RH rl7). New windows just open with a black surface content. I have therefore written a topic in a FreeCAD Forum. Please refer to: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=36107.

From the replies I have extracted the following points:

* There is a new OpenGL support in Qt5, which is used for this software
* The graphics driver can fail in this case, where an older/newer version can solve the problem


My Question: Do you have experience in using QT5 based software with OpenGL? Can the standard "VirtualBox Graphic Adapter (WDDM)" be replaced with something resolving this problem?

Please post a VM log file. With the VM fully shut down, right click and "Show Log" in the GUI, save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip, and attach the zip here.

Out of curiosity, why would you run a GPU intensive, high GPU requirement app in a VM, when there's a native port for Linux? Doesn't compute in my head...
