Windows 10 32bit install stuck at Logo Windows 7 32bit VM runs okay

Trying to install Windows 10 Pro 32bit as a guest from ISO file on a Windows 10 Pro 64bit host

Have successfully used the ISO to install a guest on another Windows 10 Pro 64bit system

Have Windows Pro 7 32 bit running as a guest on the system but attempting to install Windows 10 Pro 32bit it only gets as far as the logo and no further, even after a couple of hours.

Although VT-x is listed under instruction sets using CPU-Z I suspect it is not enabled in the BIOS, which I don't have access to.

Does Windows Pro 10 32bit need VT-x enabled whereas Windows Pro 7 32bit doesn't?

Is there a way to tell from within Windows whether VT-x is enabled or not, if that is the issue?

Virtual Box Version 6.0.6 r130049 (Qt5.6.2)
Host OS: Windows 10 Professional (x64) Version 1803 (build 17134.706)
Guest OS Windows 7 32bit up and running
CPU: Intel i3-7100
M/B: Asus H110T
8Gb Ram
Instructions sets: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, EM64T, VT-x, AES, AVX, AVX2, FMA3

We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:
  • Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
  • With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
  • Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.

No VT-x means no ability to run Win8.1 or later. Not even 32bit versions.

I suggest enabling VT-x in the host BIOS. You'll then be able to create 64bit, multi-CPU, and >Win8 VMs. Why do you think you don't have access to the BIOS?

Thanks, I didn't know about the requirement for Vt-x starting after Windows 7.

I've tried accessing the BIOS but a password is asked for and I don't know it.

The machine is provided by our EPOS company and they presumably set a password.

I asked them for access but they were unhelpful.

I might try again.

Cheers.
