[Solved] failed to open a session for the virtual machine and other errors

Post by Aylilayal »

Hi, i got a Win 10 pro 64bit and i got this problem when i try to open a vm:
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Kali-Linux-2019.1-vbox-amd64.

Not in a hypervisor partition (HVP=0) (VERR_NEM_NOT_AVAILABLE).

AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS) (VERR_SVM_DISABLED).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}
Also in "Settings>System>Processor" CPU(s) is set to 1 and i can't change it
and i got a message at the end of the page: "invalid settings detected" --> the problem here is:
Syeste: Acceleration page:
The hardware virtualization in enabled in the Acceleration section of the System page although it is not supported by the host system. It should be disabled in order to start the virtual system.
But, if i disable it the "invalid settings detected" error text change into:
General: basic page:
The virtual machine operating system hints is set to a 64-bit type. 64 bitguests systems require hardware virtualization, so this will be enabled automatically if you confirm the changes
so i can't disable it. I also tried to use a 32bit vm but the vm won't start aswell.
I saw some people fixing all this by enabling "security virtual machine" on BIOS (and mine is already enabled) and also unchecking Hyper-V on "turn windows features on or off" (but it was already disalbed, i also tried to enable it but nothing changes for the vm).
Any ideas? Ty

You should start by verifying that AMD-V support is enabled in the BIOS (may be listed as hardware virtualisation or similar). Then have a read through I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests.

If everything fails, just create a DOS-based VM and start it, no need for any bootable media or anything. When it fails to start, close the VM windows. Right-click on the VM, "Show Log". ZIP that VBox.log (only that) and post it here.
