NAT Networking does not work on Kubuntu Hardy Heron

Hi,

i am running VirtualBox on a Kubuntu Hardy Heron. I ve installed it via the official sources

deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian hardy non-free

It works fine exept that networking thing. Windows gets a IPAddress and Standard Gateway via DHCP, that works. But VirtualBox does not route the requests from the guest. There is now way to configurate NAT more precise ...

does anyone has experience with that?

thanks a lot

Andi

Do you have a firewall running? See the Forum FAQ for a list of unsupported programs. Also, make sure your primary DNS server works, as only the first Host DNS server is send to the Guest system.

Hey thanks for your fast answer.

i have non of these specified firewalls. i think it is not a DNS problem because i cant even ping die adresses of the net of the host. the configuration is.

HOST: 10.135.6.127 Mask:255.255.255.0

GUEST: via DHCP 10.0.2.15 Gateway 10.0.2.2 (i am able to ping it)

but i can not ping the adress of my host for example, but i should be able , shouldn't I?

The FAQ also states that PING will not work with NAT (Wiki link at the bottom). As long as you can access websites using a web browser, there is nothing wrong.
