I am trying to get SCSI disks attached to my 6.0.4 r128413 Windows 2016 Virtual machine.
I need to download the proper SCSI driver, but don't know which controller is being emulated. The ones I've tried are not working, so I'm assuming I have the wrong ones.
Before you ask why I'm using SCSI, I am trying to set up a Win 2016 cluster, and the other types (SAS for example) of disks are not being recognized.
I know you can't tell me where to download the driver from, as it has been stated in other threads.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
Tom

Re: Which LSI SCSI Controller is emulated
According to the source files it is the LsiLogic LSI53c1030 SCSI controller.Tom D wrote:I need to download the proper SCSI driver, but don't know which controller is being emulated.
-Andy.
My crystal ball is currently broken. If you want assistance you are going to have to give me all of the necessary information.
Please don't ask me to do your homework for you, I have more than enough of my own things to do.

Re: Which LSI SCSI Controller is emulated
Honest n00b question in the Win2016 universe; won't SATA work for this setup? Because there is actually native support for the SATA controller, no 3rd party drivers required.Tom D wrote:I am trying to set up a Win 2016 cluster, and the other types (SAS for example) of disks are not being recognized.

Andy,
Thanks for the reply. It appears that the links have the driver are blocked by corporate here.
I'll work with them to try to get the driver.

socratis,
I'm not sure, the docs seem to indicate SCSI, but I'm trying it now with SATA
I will post when I find out.

Re: Which LSI SCSI Controller is emulated
Socratis,
It tells me bus type does not support clustering. So no I can't user a SATA drive
