No internet for a WinXP guest

All,

I have seen this question in many ways and forms. I have tried everything that I have found, such as Installing the Intel Drivers on XP, Changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8, No Proxies Set removed from the Registry, changed it to bridged, Nat, Nat Network, Host Only Adapter, change the adapter type to everyone of them, and have promiscuous mod to allow all and allow all vms.

This is a clean build of Windows XP SP3 running as a guest on VirtialBox Version 6.0.4 r128413 (Qt5.6.2).

I can access the host and the other devices on my network.

I do not normally post things as I can eventually figure them out based on other posts but this one has me stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried reading the sticky post on this very area of the forum, titled "No internet for a WinXP guest", the exact same title as that of your thread? Someone might even think that you "borrowed" the title of the thread... ;)

Yes, I read it but we are trying to run the older version of IE for a reason.

I honestly don't know what reasons you might have, but it *IS* going to fail. And there's no known workaround into bringing new certificates in an 18-year old OS. If you do find it, please let us know...
