Hi all,
up to tomorrow morning, my Win10 guest on Vbox 5.2.26 (Host: MacOS Sierra) was running perfectly in a dual monitor environment: an external monitor and the Macbook Pro screen.
After I did the latest Win 10 updates to Windows 10, Version 1809, Skype for Business crashes imediately after the splash screen.
Ok, reinstalled the guest additions (which is always recommended after major version updates in Win10), same problem.
The fix: change the setup to only one monitor in Virtual Box!
This is weird. It must be a problem in the guest, but I have no idea how to troubleshoot.
Any ideas for a structured troubleshooting, anyone?
Thanks!

If this is provoked by a Skype or Windows update then I believe it has already been reported and fixed in the latest VirtualBox development version. See viewtopic.php?f=2&t=91264.
Re: Skype for Business crash in Windows 10 on dual screen setup
Thank you, will see if new guest additions for 5.2.26 from test build will do. I am still reluctant to go for 6.x
Re: Skype for Business crash in Windows 10 on dual screen setup
OK, I have to upgrade Virtual Box to 5.2.27 as well? Installing the test build on top of the 5.2.26 release gives an error:
I would rather stay on a stable Vbox version. Is there a chance to get the revised/test GA installed?Incompatible library version: VBoxPuelMain.dylib requires version 5.2.27 or later, but VBoxVMM.dylib provides version 5.2.26.

I don't see how. You have seen the discussion and the available VirtualBox versions.frimp42 wrote: I would rather stay on a stable Vbox version. Is there a chance to get the revised/test GA installed?
Re: Skype for Business crash in Windows 10 on dual screen setup
OK, thanks. I prefer to wait for the next stable release then. Until then, I will run my guest Win10 on the external monitor only. This configuration allows SfB to run without crash.
