[WorksForMe] Where can I download the right guest addition?

VB Version 6.0.4 r128413 (Qt5.9.5)
Guest: need Windows XP, W7, W10

Where can I find the guest additions for my host and guest systems?

Last time, 2-years ago, I found all I needed easily. Did I get blind???

You do *not* download the Guest Additions (GAs), they come bundled with the main program. With the VM window having the focus, you go to the host's menu "Device" » "Insert GAs CD Image...". That way you always have the appropriate GAs. For more info, see the user manual, ch. 4.2. Installing and Maintaining Guest Additions...

I was of the impression that the GAs must be downloaded separately. Now I can follow the installation manual.

I know, I know... Somebody thought it was a good idea to download them separately, found its way in a blog post (or two or more), and since then this notion that the GAs have to be downloaded separately has been unfortunately gaining momentum...
