I installed Win 7 Prof (guest) based on a physical image to a virtual machine. host is ubuntu.
After booting the virtual machine the intel rapid store driver uses about 30% of cpu performance (process IAStorDataMgrSvr.exe).
therefore I stopped the service > cpu performance is fine, system is running.
Question: can i uninstall the intel rapid store driver or is that needed for something?
thanks for your advice.

It's your conversion from a physical image and you're asking us if it's needed?gef wrote:based on a physical image
I think it's from your previous hard drive controller, which doesn't exist in your current VM configuration. And since you stopped the service, and the VM keeps on working, that should prove it, no?
Make a backup in any event, but I highly doubt that you're gonna need it.
