Straight from r/softwaregore: Interesting time display for deleting a snapshot.

Post by Tronmch2 »

I had to purge a snapshot that created with the VM online because of the issue with lsi logic adapters and saves. Got the attached status report immediately.

Also, the inability to restore saves across versions can cause serious issues if you have a bunch of "saved state VM's for whatever reason, including "I need to snapshot before testing this driver" or "I need to snapshot before I see what this systemtap script does." I have a few with old saves, and it's not pleasant to realize that I can't restore or clone them if they were done with the VM online.

If you have to do a live-snapshot, just to test this driver or test that driver, make sure that you shutdown before you upgrade VirtualBox, simple. It's like putting your computer to sleep, then taking the hard drive out and sticking it in a completely different computer; it's not going to like it.

The time estimate was there since the beta, I guess they never got around to addressing the issue...
