hi,
host system: linux SLED10 SP2 (don't ask)
guest system: Windows XP on a partition, not a disk image
using KDE with multiple desktops.
running VB 1.6.4 (just downloading 1.6.6), boot XP into seamless mode which will attach itself to one of the desktops.
when i shut down XP, if i wait for the shutdown to complete, the status goes to "Powered Off". if i change virtual desktops while the shutdown is in progress, when i come back (after enough time for the shutdown to complete) the status is "Aborted".
is that normal? i don't like the "Aborted" part... is there anything that i can do other than sitting and watching the entire shutdown sequence?
cheers,
russell
status Aborted instead of Powered Off

It seems that VB does not like it when you switch to a different desktop while the Guest is shutting down and stops it abruptly or your Window Manager kills the VB window, causing the "Aborted" state. This isn't normal, as I can switch desktops without any problem on my Xfce desktop (Xubuntu 8.04). You can try updating your Host to the latest available, use a different Window Manager (Gnome or Xfce) or just wait for the Guest to shut down properly before switching to a different desktop (or drag it to the desired desktop while it's shutting down.
