Virtual Desktop

hi, FOA sorry for my poor english. I'm using Vbox on Slackware. Slack has set Virtual Desktop (extended display) , which means in xorg.conf is set "Virtual" parameter. The most annoying thing is when I use mouse in vbox. The WHOLE of my desktop is "jumping" right, left, up, down. It's hard to describe, but maybe someone know this problem. Or maybe someone will check that on his own linux, because for me it looks like a bug.

Have you tried it with a modification of your xorg.conf file where you remove the 'virtual' display? Do you also have it with other Virtualisation software like VMWare?

No I don't know how it works on VMware. After return to normal display setup, everything works good, but I really don't want to restart X's every time i want use vbox. Also I don't really think that my display setup causes this weird desktop behaviour. It would be great if someone would check how it works on his OS. It could show that not only on my system this problem exist.

Why do you have this 'virtual' display in the first place? If it's to provide more than one desktop, you can create additional virtual desktops using your Desktop Manager (Gnome, KDE, Xfce, etc).

hmm, You are talking about multiple Desktops.. Ok, even I don't know what is REAL name of this type of desktop, so i have recorded one poor quality video. Please just look, in first 30s u see how my desktoop looks like, in 30s I've activated vbox's mouse (RIGHT CTRL) and started slowly moves. As you can see whole of my desktop is in panic. It just happens when I'm moving the cursor through the vbox's desktop. You don't even know how annoying it can be when you're trying to run program using mouse. I like vbox, but using keyboard all the time just disturbs me.

Ah, I see what you mean. It's something that digital LCD screens can do too. If you connect an LCD monitor using the DVI connection from the videocard to it's DVI port and set a resolution higher than the monitor supports, you can 'scroll' the whole screen when you move your mouse to a corner of the visible part. Have you tried installing the Guest Additions yet? From what I can see here, the move of the monitor is triggered by VB too, because it thinks it's on the edge of the visible screen.

OK, I've installed newest version of Vbox (2.0), and as you suggested - Vbox additions. Nothing has changed. So what now? Is this worth to be reported as a bug? And just one thing: I've tried today VMware and there everything was ok (but I don't like this stuff). I just remembered that some times ago I've tried virtualization stuff called Qemu, and this emulator also worked nice with my desktop setup.
