Autodesk Revit Texts

Post by Xakk »

Hey everyone.
I got an issue with texts in Revit. I posted this in a Revit forum and was suggested that it is a virtual machine issue...
We just upgraded to Revit 2019 from 2016 and now the annotations while on the screen looks fine but in print preview and when I print, the tests are stretched.
I am running Windows 7 in virtualbox on a late 2013 IMac.
I tried installing windows 10 but my machine is not fast enough, I guess, or I have some settings wrong.
I had Windows updated and I am using the latest version of VirtualBox. Reinstalled all the VB tools.

Any help? Thanks

We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run:
  • Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe error / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
  • With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
  • Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.

Where did this VM come from? It doesn't look like you installed it yourself from scratch...

This is good. But your 3D acceleration is not enabled. Enable it in the VM Settings » Display » Screen.

It seems that you installed the Guest Additions (GAs) while rebooting in safe-mode and choosing "Yes" to if you want to install the Direct3D drivers. Can you repeat the GAs installation, but this time chose "No"? There's no need to boot into safe-mode, the WDDM drivers can be installed while booted normally...

no, it use to be a VM Fusion image but I updated mac OS and then needed to buy another version of Fusion. I had someone, somehow copy the image to virtualbox.

In the setting, the 3d acceleration is selected but in Windows, it still thinks it is not.

Oh yes, definitely! But, no more than 3 CPUs, and check your RAM for how much available you usually have on your host. And keep on checking your host's resources, such as CPU and RAM usage.
