[Invalid] VB can not see shared folders without Guest Additions

Hello, firstly sorry for my English - I haven't spoke for a long time.
I have installed VirtualBox on my Macbook air 13, 2017 (MacOs 10.13.6), guest sys. Win 10 home (ver 1809)
When I run VB, with installed Guest Additions my max resolution can be set to 1152x864, with uninstalled GA I can set resolution 1440x900 - which is best for me. But with uninstalled GA I can not see share folders, which I need.
I have tested many offered solution for setting resolution manually with GuestAdditions but didn't work for me.
So my question is - can I set (or see) shared folders without installing Guest Additions? (this would be probably easiest solution for me instead of changing resolution with GA)

Once again sorry for my English and maybe dummy question - I am newbie in macos

Naturally, the Guest Additions Shared Folders feature is not available if the Guest Additions are not installed.

You can however create a normal network share as you would in the physical world.

Or you could address the actual problem. The 1152x864 maximum is because the Windows guest thinks you have a 4:3 monitor, which is true for the virtual monitor. Therefore it doesn't offer any 16:9 presets. It should be possible to drag the window border manually (and very carefully) to a 16:9 ratio, then after rebooting the guest it should be possible to select other 16:9 display sizes.

Mpack, thank You very much for Your response - it gave me an idea...
And after 2 days of trying it finally works - I tried, as You wrote, to drag the window borders, but it does not work - still maximum 1152x 864, but then i found in display settings the graphic controller menu and change the value from vboxSVGA to VMSVGA. After restart it offers full screen mode with 1440x900... So in spite of absolutely misunderstanding the system of virtualsystem, it works
So thanks once more - without that "kick" I wouldn't try it...

Try to avoid the VMSVGA for Windows guests at the moment. Stick with VBoxVGA, the older more trusted at this point vGPU...

I said VBoxVGA, not VBoxSVGA, note the extra "S". Try the VGA, not the SVGA.

Which part? They're all virtual GPUs, nothing to do with your GPU...

Sorry, my mistake. Nevertheless, I tried the VBoxVGA and the problem returned - just resolution with sizes 4:3...

VirtualBox can't overclock your host.
As for the resizing, resize it manually to whatever you feel like and be done with it...

And we should stop actually talking about resolutions, the title of the thread doesn't quite match the discussion. You can open a new thread; one thread per issue, one issue per thread.

Marking that as [Invalid] because the Shared Folders *are* an intrinsic part of the GAs, the question can't even stand.

No problem at all... If the manual resize that mpack suggested doesn't work, open a new thread, appropriately titled.

I found that it's easier to have the "Advanced Display Settings" dialog open while resizing the screen, it updates real-time.
