unbound caching and UTC hardware clock mess

Post by cygnal »

I've played around with settings in order to tune my FreeBSD guest, and tried the "hardware clock in UTC" setting.

It seems to have messed up my local_unbound service.
From experience I know that changing time may mess with certificates.
How to get out of this problem? I still want to use local_unbound , but I cannot get DNS to work.

I've tried some basic unbound troubleshooting, and deleting root.key, and now it starts OK, but it doesn't resolve. One command gave the output
... is NOT ok, and could not be fixed.
Cheers if anyone could help. Here's "Minimum Info"

VirtualBox 5.2.18 r124319 (Qt5.6.2)
HOST: Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) fully updated
GUEST: FreeBSD 11.2-r4 (x64)
