Every time I shutdown a VM, the Virtual Box will crash and I have to click re-open. Below is part of the error message generated by the iMac.

Does not seem to be a "Windows Guests" question. Moving topic to OS X Hosts.

There are a couple of reports about 10.14 (Mojave) crashing. Nothing solid yet...

I've been having this problem for a few years now, since Yosemite, on my MacBook Pro mid-2014.
I've sent the crash report to Apple a few times, which never made sense. Perhaps the crash report should be redirected to the VirtualBox developers?

I haven't been terribly worried about this problem until today when, whilst running v5.2.12, I was not able to reopen the VirtualBox GUI via the Dock icon until I shutdown all running VMs. It was a bit of an inconvenience as I was in the middle of doing some stuff. So I upgraded to 5.2.22 at the same time.
Under 5.2.12, I've only had one occasion, a couple weeks ago, where a VM didn't shutdown cleanly. It may have been my own doing as I was trying to create a VM using physically attached disks and perhaps did something incorrectly.

[UPDATE}
Well, I spoke too soon about VMs not shutting down cleanly. My U14.04 server triggered a VirtualVM error while shutting down today. I had just made a snapshot and noticed my Mac's fan came on. So I decided to shut it down to see if that would help, which it did. Fortunately I have been able to start it up again and log in.

Cheers,
Nap
