I have a Windows Guest which I am running with VBoxSDL to prevent our students from running VirtualBox Manager. The issue is that when using num lock to enable the number keypad the arrow keys stop working. Switch num lock off and the arrow keys work but then you cannot use the number keypad.

If I run the VM with the VirtualBox Manager everything works correctly so the issue seems to be with VBoxSDL.

Anyone know how I can get the num lock working correctly with VBoxSDL please? Thanks

You don't mention VirtualBox version. Please always do so when reporting a problem.

Anyway, with VirtualBox 5.2.18 and 5.2.20 and a Win7 guest, the numeric keypad, numlock and arrow keys work exactly as you would expect.

What is your host PC? I suspect you have an odd host keyboard layout that doesn't have a true numeric keypad. Or, you have the wrong keymapping configured in the guest OS.
