Novice - so be gentle - I will try to offer greatest detail

iMac running Mojave
VirtualBox 5.2.20 r125813 (Qt5.6.3)
Guest Additions installed.
Installed fresh copy of Windows 10 Professional and all up to date
Installed Microsoft Office 2019
All was working great

When I attempted to retrieve a file from a USB drive, it was not showing up, so I looked at the USB Device settings for this guest OS and noticed the only two selected were the Apple Inc
[ ] Unknown Device 13FE:5500 [0100]
[x]FaceTime HD Camera (Built-in) [7320]
[x] Broadcom Corp. Bluetooth UPS Host Controller [0162]

So I selected the unknown device believing it was the USB plugged into the back of my iMac
this is when things went south

I get the following to messages on my iMAC -
Connection Lost (for the Apple Bluetooth Magic Mouse 2)
then
Connection Lost (for the Apple Bluetooth Magic-Wireless Keyboard)
~~no message for the apple trackpad

the mouse pointer disappears (and the mouse is captured inside the guest OS and if I blindly position it , it works- example...move to lower left and click and menu pops up)
I cannot get the mouse to release back to the mac
the keyboard seams to work, but acts blind like the mouse

if I close Windows (the guest), the mouse, keyboard AND trackpad reconnect

Here is another kicker...
if I stay in windows long enough - the Mac OS goes to sleep because it does not detect any keyboard or input during that time

Do you have a typo in the third USB device?
"[x] Broadcom Corp. Bluetooth USB Host Controller [0162]" would be your BT controller.
Remove that check mark, because this filter grabs your whole BT controller and attaches it (only) to the guest, therefore removing anything connected via BT from your host.

Not so much a typo I'd say, as no choice coupled with a failure of understanding.

VirtualBox has no feature which allows it to capture Bluetooth devices, it can only capture USB devices. The only relevant USB device here is the Bluetooth controller. If you capture that then the VM will own the Bluetooth controller and the host will lose all use of Bluetooth.

Which matches what has been reported, i.e. the expected USB behaviour.

To fix the problem I suggest that you shut down the VM then delete all of the USB filters you created. Then I suggest accessing the USB drive as a shared folder, letting the host continue to own the drive.
