XP Guest Runs on Vista host, BSOD on Ubuntu

I have a laptop with a dualboot of Vista and Ubuntu. The drive has a 'data' partition on it, accessible from both OS.

I created a WinXP guest using Vista, which works well. For kicks, I installed VB in the ubuntu install and tried to run the same XP guest from the Ubuntu host, and got a BSOD.

Before I get too deep into this, I am assuming that this should be possible. Am I right, and if so are there some settings that I should be aware of to run the same guest from both hosts?

I have the same setup, though with XP instead of Vista. It works fine for me, but I did have one time that the XP Guest would crash on one of the two hosts with not apparent reason. Please see the VirtualBox FAQ about the BSOD. If that does not solve it, please read the Forum Posting Guide and provide information we need.
