Yes, I know that this isn't a new topic, but I'm getting desperate!
I have openSuse 11 installed on a Dell Latitude (64-bit version). I used the repos to install VirtualBox and got my XP session working...then, after a few days, got the dreaded "Failed to create..." error.
I uninstalled completely VB (including all my XP virtual installations) and re-installed. I had to go through the XP set-up again, and again, after a couple of days, I got the "Failed to create..." error.
I have used YaST to remove VB and then re-install, but the error persists.
Has anyone got any ideas how to resolve this? I really don't want to have to remove everything manually and start from scratch again. If that's the case, I'll probably continue dual booting for the couple of apps I use.
Hope someone can help...

VirtualBox Failed to Create COM Object
Hi
Thanks for the note.
I'm being thick, but I cannot find the PUEL download you suggested. Happy to try this if I can find it...can you give me the link?
Regarding the error I get, it is:
"VirtualBox - Critical Error
Failed to create the VirtualBox COM object. The application will now terminate. Callee RC 0x80040154".
Is this what you mean by all details?
Sorry if I'm not providing the right info - my specs broke today and I'm squintying at the screen until I get them fixed.

I was more referring to Guest and Host setup.
You can find the PUEL version on www.virtualbox.org on the download section. You will be transferred to the SUN download site, select your Host OS and download it.

Critical Error
Thanks all - Terry, your link has got me a bit further. I can't access my virtual machines now, but at least the virtualbox is starting now. I'll play about with it and see how I get on.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
