Posted: 5. Oct 2018, 21:03
I successfully installed my USB drivers (received confirmation), but they do not show up as an option under Devices in the menu.
Any ideas?

No it's not. Read it again. There is one extra command that applies if you are on Windows, and one extra command that applies if you're on Linux. The rest apply to all...LC wrote:But it is specified for Windows or Linux only—I'm on a Mac.

Not able to fill in the settings because my ATMEL driver is not showing up, i.e., I have no idea what the Name, VendorID and ProductID are.USB basics and troubleshooting, #4: USB Filters wrote:Under VM Settings » Port » USB, create a USB filter in your guest settings while the device is plugged in the host. Delete all values except Name, VendorID and ProductID. The Name is nothing more than a label and is not actively participating in the filtering process. You can change it at will. I usually use "Stick: XYZ" or "Joystick: ABC" or "Other: IJK".
That has absolutely nothing to do with the device showing in the USB bus. It only means that you can't use the device on OSX, that's it.LC wrote:It won't show because there are no macOS drivers.
If your Mac doesn't see the USB device, there's no chance in this world that VirtualBox will see it. None.LC wrote:That is why I am having to go through VirtualBox.
Because your Mac doesn't see the device, VirtualBox won't see the device. Can't see what's not there...LC wrote:they were able to select in from the Devices/USB menu. It doesn't show up there.
Yeah... A broken device? A broken hub? A bad cable? Can you try with another device? A USB stick for example, an external HD, a camera, sound card, gamepad, joystick, anything? Remember to go to the System Report. Refresh the report if you have to (Cmd+R).LC wrote:Ideas?
