Howto use ONE VDI-Image on TWO concurrent VMs?

The iSCSI approach discussed by rizzo and the referenced article seems to be one promising avenue here. However, for guest bast DLM approach to work, it work be essential that any access to the shared drives should be synchronous write-through and read-through with no caching or optimisation in the Host OS. That's not how VBox does it at the moment.
