I'm having the same problem. It's not a "hang" as a process would, the OS simply fails to install and keeps bringing you back to the "Why did my PC restart?" screen.

My host is Windows 10 1709, the guest is Windows 10 Insider Preview 17758 (aka 1809 preview).

Other Windows 10 guests (e.g. 1803 and 1607) install fine for me.

I have the problem with both VirtualBox 5.2.18 and 5.1.38.

I split your post from viewtopic.php?f=6&t=89378. Your Released versions are running fine, as opposed to the other thread. You have a problem with an Insider build, which may or may not work.

We're going to need to see a VM log from a complete VM run:

• Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe error / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
• With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
• Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.

I am not sure what your problem is, but it is not a Version 17758 specific problem. I have just installed it in a vm from the ISO and everything went as expected.
