Netscape Communicator doesn't like NT 4.0

Post by CorporalPig22 »

So lately, I've been trying to install Netscape Communicator on my Windows NT 4.0 VM. The install was a success, and I couldn't wait to see some of its features. So then I open up any program installed with Communicator, only to be met with this error:

NETSCAPE caused a General Protection Fault in
module WIN87EM.DLL at 0001:02C9.

Choose close. NETSCAPE will close.

Which keeps me from opening any Netscape program (besides AIM). So now what do I do?

Why do you think this is a VirtualBox problem?

Have you tried searching for "General Protection Fault in module WIN87EM.DLL"? Because there are about a gazillion results out there.

Just because an OS/program that runs in the context of VirtualBox has a problem, it doesn't make it a VirtualBox problem necessarily. You're having an issue that has most probably nothing to do with VirtualBox, so my suggestion would be to treat it as such, as a native problem with the OS or the application of the guest.
