No OpenGL capable graphics card detected?

Post by wolma »

Running 1803 win 10 and have added the guest additions and extensions, and have the Maximum Guest Screen Size to None. I was able to get my screen resolution past the low defaults to 1600x1200 but when I try to run a simple 3D app I get a no OpenGL capable graphics card detected erorr. In device manager it just lists the generic MS adapter. How do I get the VM to see/use my Invidia Titian to any degree?

Thanks

You can't. You are running a virtual computer with virtual hardware. The GPU that's provided with VirtualBox is a really limited card, with capabilities of the era 1995-2000 (something like that). If you've installed the Guest Additions and enabled 2D/3D acceleration, that's the best you get.

I think it's OpenGL 2.x.something, I don't have the details readily available.

For more information, take a look at the User Manual ch. 4.5 Hardware-accelerated graphics.
