USB thumb drive use

VB 5.1.38 on Mavs w/W7 sees the USB 2 thumb drive, but I can't find the path to formatting it.

ok, figured that out.
have to plug the USB drive in when VB W7 is up and running.
But now I find that VB running is blocking app switcher in Mavericks as well as some other Finder and custom functions.

nope. dunno what the issue is coz VB never use to be an issue. Since I use it so seldom ...........
