[Resolved] Guest additions not allowing copy/paste

Post by drs@dcneuro.net »

I recently wiped out my Windows partition and reestablished it as new. Running Windows 7 64-bit on Mac OS 10.13.5. I established bidirectional clipboard/drag-and-drop. I have also shared two folders from OS with full access granted and auto mount enabled. They do not show up however and copy/paste continues to not work. I get a pop-up message on the top that tells me to reinstall my guest additions which I have now done twice, (v5.2.14). I'm not sure if I need to uninstall them before I install and if so I'm not sure how to do that.

Kindly advise and thanks.

Partition or VM? Are you using the Bootcamp partition as a rawdisk access one?

The Guest Additions are not installed.

You do not need to install the GAs, you can install the new ones. With the VM windows in-focus, menu "Devices" » "Insert GAs CD image...", it will prompt you. If not, find the CD drive in your VM, run "VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe".
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

Huh? 1) you mean double-click on the GAs installer or in the VM CD? 2) You don't see anything in the Task Manager?
